Test Task for the
World War Z: Aftermath Project
I will showcase what I managed to accomplish in a few days while working on the test assignment for the World War Z: Aftermath project at the Saber Interactive subsidiary - SPL. I would like to present an example of my test task, although even after some time, certain shortcomings and areas for improvement have become apparent. Nevertheless, I am demonstrating the exact version that was submitted to the studio.
Requirements for the Assignment "Design of a Cooperative Level":
Create a prototype of a cooperative level for PC in the style of popular shooters (Left 4 Dead, Gears of War, Back 4 Blood, etc.), focused on a single idea with cooperative mechanics.
Main Requirements:
  • The prototype must reflect the final layout of the level.
  • Simple geometry to understand the dimensions of the final assets.
  • Metrics must correspond to the chosen game.
  • Event scripts are not needed, but their descriptions should be included in the documentation.
  • The playtime should be up to 7 minutes.
  • Use UE or Unity with a standard character controller.
Additionally, a gameplay video, concept description, and level documentation are required.

Documentation:
A detailed description of the level, including the concept, structure, and key design elements. The document demonstrates the iterations from the initial idea to the blockout, the player's sequence of actions, and the description of all planned game mechanics and interactions.
